I seriously, utterly, completely and totally CANNOT believe that we’re celebrating Piper’s first birthday tomorrow. Holy canoli. REALLY???
I can’t wait to share with you all the festivities that will be had tomorrow. I’m so excited- it’s sure going to be fun to celebrate the culmination of a crazy year, a year of being a family of three, and, of course, the sweet pea, cute-as-a-button, hysterical peanut we’ve been blessed to have been given.
It’s been a busy few days getting the finishing touches on some things- Piper’s been a real trooper! And since she’s a big girl now, she thought that meant that she can enjoy big girl snacks as a reward.
Like Tootsie Roll Pops.
Yup- it should help pack on at least a little weight, right???
She soon decided, though, that the stick was more fun than the pop. Weirdo. But this way, it doubled as a tasty treat and made for an excellent mallet to play her Bumbo tray as a drum.
Unfortunately, the more she played the more it stuck. To her, to her clothes, her to her clothes…
There was only one solution, of course.
Okay, not really (read: please don’t call social services on us…)- but it was tempting. Instead, she talked her Nana out of a regular bath. A plain ol’, run of the mill, regular bath. Just like she took when she wasn’t a one-year-old.
Good thing. I’m not sure I’m ready for her to give up ALL of her baby-like activities!
Great minds think alike!
ReplyDeleteI laughed out loud at the last picture. Can't wait for birthday pics :)
ReplyDeleteOh Happy birthday sweet Piper. Hope you got all unsticky just in time to dive into a big piece of cake (maybe some with sprinkle frosting!)
