So after our conversation about walkers, I found this on babysteals.com (have you ever heard? Kind of like Woot! (also if you haven’t heard), but it’s deal-a-day baby things. They also have kidsteals and scrapbooksteals… Love them all!!!) and decided to give it a try.
I’ve seen some things like this before, but I really like that this one has a butt in it so that you don’t have to worry about slipping out. The crotch is very malleable, so I don’t feel like it’s keeping her pelvis spread too far.
Our only issue with it is that the armpit area goes up to her chin… Not so good- especially when she’s deciding to sit…
But that aside, I think she really likes it!
And best of all? I don’t have to be completely hunched over helping her walk!
She made it down the block to the corner, turned around, and came all the way back tonight. Woohoo! I think this’ll really help with the endurance-building bit. I’m also starting to get her to stand unassisted for bits at a time in it, because she doesn’t realize that she doesn’t have any support (it’s lots easier than having to get my fingers out of her hands and trying to convince her that I still have a hand on her…) In the first and last pictures, you can see how little slack there is in the straps.
Who knows if it’ll actually help, but I figure it can’t hurt, right?
You go, baby girl!
ReplyDeleteNana is soooo proud of you!
We just got one of those for Max... but he hasn't figured out how to move his feet just yet :)
ReplyDeleteWe bought one of those for my son, but he's not sure what to make of it yet! :)
ReplyDeleteNeat idea:)
ReplyDeleteHow adorable is she?! What a great idea. And she look so happy.
ReplyDeleteI've got one coming in the mail any day now! I figured it would help her learn to stand first as we are still a long way from walking. Glad to see that Piper likes it!
ReplyDeleteThat is a cool contraption. We just used a towel under Alayna's arms as our backs couldn't take any more walking practice =)
ReplyDeleteGo Piper go!
Great idea, I am considering getting one too but I am not sure Luc is ready. Piper's going to be walking in no time!
